Thank you for choosing Clip & Chill. My goal is to make every grooming experience calm, safe and comfortable for your dog.

To ensure the best care and a smooth appointment, please read the following service terms.

Dog Health & Behaviour

Owners are responsible for informing the groomer of any health conditions, injuries, allergies, sensitivities, or behavioural concerns before the appointment.

If a dog shows signs of illness, injury, or significant stress during the grooming process, the groomer may pause or stop the appointment for the dog's wellbeing.

For safety reasons, the groomer reserves the right to refuse or discontinue grooming if a dog shows aggressive behaviour that may cause injury to the dog or groomer.

Grooming Risks

Every effort is made to ensure a safe and gentle grooming experience. However, grooming involves sharp tools, water, dryers and handling, and minor risks can occur.

These may include small nicks, clipper irritation, quicked nails, or skin sensitivity, particularly with elderly dogs, very active dogs, or dogs with sensitive skin.

Matting Policy

Severely matted coats can cause discomfort and may hide skin irritation or wounds.

In cases of heavy matting, the safest and most humane option may be to clip the coat shorter than the owner originally intended. Dematting can be painful and stressful for dogs, so the groomer will always prioritise the dog's comfort and welfare.

Owners give permission for matting to be removed in the safest way possible.

Fleas & Parasites

If fleas or other parasites are discovered during grooming, the appointment may need to be stopped or adjusted. Additional cleaning or treatment fees may apply if equipment or grooming tools require sanitization.

Veterinary Care

In the unlikely event that a medical emergency occurs and the owner cannot be contacted, the owner authorizes the groomer to seek veterinary advice if necessary. Any veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the dog’s owner.

Home Environment

As grooming takes place in the client’s home, the owner is responsible for providing a safe and suitable environment for grooming. This includes adequate space, lighting, and access to electricity and water where required. For safety reasons, other pets and young children should be kept away from the grooming area during the appointment where possible. If the environment is not suitable for safe grooming, the groomer may need to pause or reschedule the appointment. In these situations, a call-out fee may apply.

The groomer is not responsible for accidental damage caused by the dog during the grooming process.

Puppies, Elderly Dogs & Special Care

Extra time and care may be required for puppies, elderly dogs or dogs with medical conditions. The groomer may adjust the groom or stop the session if it becomes too stressful or tiring for the dog.

Appointments & Cancellations

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Payment

Payment is due at the end of the appointment unless agreed otherwise in advance.

Photography

With the owner’s permission, photos of dogs may occasionally be taken for grooming records or used on social media or the website. Owners may opt out at any time.

By booking a grooming appointment, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and that the information you provide about your dog is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
